Unco B's Stogie Diary

Every cigar has something to say

I smoke a lot of cigars. And because I’m smoking 3-5 a day, I keep a pretty large daily-driver rotation so I can have variety without constantly digging into the expensive or harder-to-replace stuff in my humidor. But even with all that variety, I’ve noticed I go through phases where a much smaller group starts getting most of my attention. Those are the cigars I find myself reaching for over and over again until something else eventually pushes its way in.

So I made a new page: Current Go-Tos.

These aren’t necessarily my highest-rated cigars, my “best of” list, or the most expensive stuff in my humidor. They’re simply the cigars I keep reaching for right now.

Every cigar on the page is one I’ve reviewed, so each entry includes a link to the full review if you want to know why I keep going back to it. I’ve also included purchase links if you want to try one for yourself.

And because my habits change, the list will too.

    Unc,

That’s a big list, but it has to be when you’re smoking 3-5 per day. I can’t because then sleep will be non-existent! Question….I tried the manzanita in a Corona size and loved them. Bought Robustos or Toros, and they were terrible! They were completely bland, flat, with not even a resemblance to the flavors in the Corona. In fact, nothing! Just burning leaves. Am I missing something? Bad batch? Please tell me what you continue to like that I’m missing.

    Thanks

I love the Corona, but my go-to is the Toro. Try dry boxing it for at least a day. To me, they smoke like Cubans and do much better when they’re a little drier.

They weren’t over-humidified. They just had absolutely nothing going on. Like smoking paper almost.

Wow… The Corona will give you more wrapper influence, and maybe that’s what appealed to you.

I just read your review. The flavors you mention were in the Corona but non-existent in the larger size. Nothing, nada, zip, so maybe I got a bad batch. I may try them again when a sale pops up. Thanks

You can get a box of 10 at Cigar Page for $45. Not sure if that’s CP+ pricing, but it’s a great deal.
