This is both a suggestion and a new cigar line brought to us by the same guys who own Powstanie, but they fly under the Pospiech, Inc. flag, owned by Mike and Gregg Szczepankiewicz. Say that three times fast. The line was announced at PCA 2026 and shipped to retailers this summer. It consists of three blends: Connecticut, Habano, and Maduro, each offered in a Robusto, Toro, and Gordo. The cigars are long-filler and made in Estelí, Nicaragua, but Pospiech is keeping the factory and blend stats undisclosed, except for the wrappers.
I’ve been waiting to try these out since they were announced.
First of all, I love Powstanie cigars. And even though these are being sold specifically as a budget line, if they’re coming from the founders of Powstanie, they’re not going to skimp on quality. Secondly, I’m always in search of the next Paul Stulac Post Script; that is, cigars I can get at a great price that give me a smoking experience far greater than their price.
And after smoking the Habano and Maduro, yup, these are high-quality smokes, and they fit the Post Script bill nicely.
And like the Post Script, I’m going to be smoking the shit out of these!
The whole project grew out of the Szczepankiewicz brothers’ experience on the retail side of the business. The idea was to create an affordable premium cigar that gives brick-and-mortar shops something capable of competing with the kind of aggressive pricing consumers normally find online.
MSRP is $8 across the entire line, regardless of blend or size. I ordered mine from The Cigar Vault Oakdale, where they’re running a buy-three-get-one-free deal. That works out to $6 a stick! Yeah, I bought a bunch of the Habano and Maduro. I didn’t get the Connie simply because Cigar Vault only had them in Gordo. But I liked both the Habano and Maduro sticks so much, I made another order for more today.
Here are some quick notes.
The Habano is super smooth and flavorful, with cedar, cream, bread, baking spices, roasted nuts, floral, and fruity notes aplenty. The Maduro is dark, with molasses, stone fruit, honey, black pepper, charred oak, and dark-roasted coffee. When I got down to the last couple of inches of the Maduro, I could have sworn it tasted similar to a Post Script San Andrés.
I can hardly contain my excitement about these sticks. And yes, I highly recommend them.

The only reliable place I could find them online was Cigar Vault Oakdale. None of the big-box retailers have them, and to be honest, since these are targeted at B&Ms, I doubt they’ll ever get them. Here’s a great thing about ordering from them. They don’t just ship in Ziploc bags with a humidity pack. The cigars arrive in a reusable, food-grade storage bag.
