Every cigar has something to say

Happy 4th of July!

I’m spending the 4th of July weekend at a good friend’s house in Ramona, CA. He lives in a beautiful home at the top of a hill just outside of town, and last night, we sat around the campfire in his backyard to watch the sunset.

Being the “keeper of the flame,” I supplied the cigars while we sipped some good red wine. I gave him a Paul Stulac Miami Style while I smoked the wonderful Domain Attenuation.

While we were sitting there in awe of those amazingly gorgeous skies, I thought about how lucky we are to live in a country where we have the freedom to enjoy simple pleasures like this.

I was filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude.

For my family. For my friendships. For my life. And yes, for the pure enjoyment of a great cigar with a good friend.

Yes, our country has its problems. And unfortunately, our media focuses on the negatives to the point where it feels like everything is falling to shit. But filter all that out, and we, as a nation, enjoy a hell of a lot more freedom in America than in many other countries.

So, on our 250th anniversary as a nation, I wish you all a Happy 4th of July!

Cut. Light. Enjoy.
