Every cigar has something to say

Guest Review: Drew Estate Early Access “Fire” (Undercrown El Tigre Dominicano)

When I wrote, “What do you do when an experience falls flat?” I had a particular cigar in mind. But I didn’t want to let the cat out of the bag because my review was going to be published on Katman’s blog today. You can read it here.

Everyone’s palate is different, and even though I didn’t give the cigar a stellar rating, don’t let my review deter you from trying it. It was a pleasant cigar, but for me, it just didn’t do enough.

Once it hits retailer shelves, I will try it again. Two cigars are a pretty small sample size. Plus, the early access was intentionally dropped just a month before the official release. It very well could be that these need some serious laydown time to come together.

    Ok Unc,

Here’s where you get your props! I mentioned when you first were welcomed aboard, that Katman’s readers were very discerning. I’ve followed him for over a decade because our palates are similar, he’s taken the time to give everything he reports on a fair and honest review, and he will tell us the honest and sometimes painful truth. (And he’s a Bassist) He’s the only guy I actually bit the bullet and waited 3 months to smoke a particular stick, and it WAS a different and better smoke!

So what does any of this have to do with you? He picked you! So I trust you. And you got Full Props, that went unmentioned until today, when you talked about Opus X. I agree 100%. Nice cigars, but way overpriced, and they don’t excite me either. Kinda like being with a gorgeous woman who has no idea how to work with what god gave her.

    Again, welcome aboard!

(BTW, looks like you both had a similar experience with this cigar. See why the trust is there?)
