It’s Amazing How Time Flies When You’re Having a Good Smoke

I’m staying at the Shasta Inn in Mount Shasta, CA. Got back from dinner at about 8:30 and wanted to have a stick before turning in for the evening. There is a nice, lit patio at the lodge so I meandered there. I had chosen a tried-and-true Roly from my travel humidor and sparked it up.

Before I knew it, an hour had passed, and I was less than two-thirds through the stick! I got lost in reading guitar and cigar reviews and completely lost track of time. But that’s how it should be. A good cigar is meant to take you to a happy place where there’s no time, or at least no sense of time simply because it doesn’t matter.

As for the Roly, I usually smoke that stick in a half-hour. But tonight, I took my time. I had nowhere to go, so I just decided to enjoy myself. I couldn’t believe the length the ash took before I started coming loose. It was almost two inches! I’ve come to expect at least an inch from that smoke, but I usually smoke it during meetings, so I’m moving it back and forth to the ashtray often.

Tonight, I just held it the entire time and I couldn’t believe how well the ash held up! This is a testament to how well-constructed this cigar is. And at least to me, it affirms why many cigar enthusiasts love this cigar. It’s a real gem that can be had for a very affordable price!
