Purchased: XO Natural (Gordo) 6 X 60
Store: CigarsInternational.com
Bid: $34.95 for a 5-pack
Buy again? Absolutely!

I must admit that I was a little scared of this cigar when I bought it. But it was part of a CI special where you pick three premium 5-packs for a great price. And since I hadn’t tried a Gurkha AND I had read so much hate about the brand on Cigar Geeks, I wanted to see for myself.

I know, most people would tell me to just get a couple of singles, but I’m still pretty new to having a regular smoke, and I’ve been building up my collection and want to try a bunch of different cigars. But though I’m new to smoking regularly, I’m not new to cigars and I know what I like. And I like, no, love this stick!

It hits all the tasting points for me. Cedar, coffee, nuts and a creamy finish. In fact, this fucking thing is so smooth that it hides the fact that it is a full-bodied cigar. No wonder they call it the Widow Maker. This thing draws you in, then kicks your ass! But I say that very tongue in cheek. It’s not like Fallen Angel that will rip your fuckin’ heart out. The Widow Maker has a subtle effect. At least for me, though I get the big nic-hit from it, I’m smiling the whole time. That’s how pleasing the cigar is.

I realize that I’m raving about this much like I’ve raved about the CAO America. To me, it’s THAT good. I think I’ll always have a few of these in my rotation.
