OMFG! This is a great cigar. I first got introduced to Tatuaje by Troy, RJ’S godfather. He shared a Havana VI Petite Corona with me and it was incredible. I resolved right then that I would get some of these.
And last night while walking through Caesar’s, I was drawn into the Montecristo shop (of course). I had a couple of sticks picked out but saw these so, I picked up three. I smoked one on the way back to the hotel, and now I’m smoking one as I write this!
As a petite corona, one might think that as a small format cigar that you can smoke it in 15-20 minutes. But that would be an absolute mistake. This morning’s cigar was wonderful. There was plenty of coffee and a bit of spice and a hint of citrus as I expected based on last night’s cigar. But missing was the creamy finish. When I slowed down and let the cigar have a bit of time to breathe in between drags, that creaminess came back.
Last night, it took me over an hour to smoke the first one because we were walking back to our hotel from the Strip and there were lots of people. I didn’t want to be rude and take a drag while we were weaving in and out of the crowds, so there was usually about 5-8 minutes in between drags. And it helped develop the flavors. Plus, it amazed me that it stayed lit that long.
But this morning, I smoked the second one faster. And as I mentioned, it was still wonderful, but it wasn’t as good until I slowed down. Curious about this phenomenon, I did a search for some reviews and came across this review where the author shared a similar experience as mine.
So note to self: Set aside some time for this stick and it’ll reward you with an incredible experience.
