If I could describe this cigar in one word, it would be “exotic.” The aroma and smoke hint of fresh teak wood. And so far, it’s the only cigar I’ve had as of late where the retro hale is enjoyable to me. It brings out that teak wood quality.
On the milder side of medium, this has all sorts of flavor: cocoa, teak, leather, and a hint of cinnamon on the finish and plenty of cream to spare. The draw is on the easy side. The burn is a little faster than I like, but it stays lit and at least it’s even. No runners or tunneling so the construction is spot on.
Dammit! Why does Oliva have to make such great cigars? I haven’t had one yet that I didn’t absolutely love – even the “cheap” ones. I smoked all my Flor de Oliva cigars and need to get some more once I dwindle down my current stock. But it’s tough because it’ll have to compete with the likes of the Serie O (my fav), Serie G, and now this, the Master Blends III.
CI calls this a super-premium. Of that there’s no doubt. I could smoke one of these every day. But I’m going to have to control myself. These are top-shelf cigars that need a special occasion!
