Rocky Patel Vintage 2nds 1990 Perfecto Maduro

Purchased: 15-pack Perfecto (4 X 48)
Store: Cigars International
Price: $54.99
Buy again? You bet your ass!

A box of these normally costs about $170. Not cheap. But these 2nds give you all the flavor of the production quality cigars at a fraction of the price. And I have to say that I absolutely love this perfecto size! I was a little dubious of it when I first got it because I thought it would be a quick smoke. But it’s anything but quick. I smoked one of these today and it took well over an hour to get to the last third!

This is a real slow burner and it stays lit; that is, unless you let it sit for too long. The draw is tight. But even a small draw produces a lot of smoke. How wonderful is that? And the taste is amazing. It’s rich and creamy and the Maduro wrapper provides a tiramisu burnt sugar crust taste that is out of this world!

When you first take it out of the cellophane, the wrapper practically oozes oils! At first glance, I thought that it was going to be a strong cigar that would put me on my ass. But I was wrong. It has a gorgeous, medium-body flavor, but not extraordinarily strong nicotine. To me, it’s almost a perfect smoke!

Yeah, I will DEFINTELY be keeping these stocked along with my Oliva Serie O.

Update 10/23/2023: About a week ago I discovered that these also come in a Petite Corona vitola. I’m going to see if I can score a couple of 15-packs of cigarbid.com as that vitola has become a favorite.
