Buy again? For sure, but not a priority
For all the hate I read on CigarGeeks.com for RP, I’m sorry, but there just hasn’t been a Rocky Patel cigar that I haven’t loved. To me, they’re all great, even the cheap ones like “Cargo,” and the Sun Grown is no exception.
For the stick I’m smoking as I write this, I’ve realized that these specials from CI are really meant for moving stale inventory; not that the cigars are bad, but they have probably been sitting in storage with no one buying them. So they make loss-leaders to get the inventory off the shelves. Hmm… sounds a lot like promo… :)
While this is a great-tasting stick, it needs some humidor time. I have a feeling that CI had these in stock for a long time. There were wrapper problems with this particular stick. The wrapper around the head came off, and in the last third, the wrapper is really coming undone. But I don’t fault the manufacturer for this. This is on CI.
But regardless of the issues, I’m really liking this stick; not enough to make it a priority re-buy, but this will definitely be one I would buy again.
