This would be considered a super-premium cigar. Its smooth character never changes. I’m into the second third and it’s still incredibly smooth. It’s a rich cigar rife with cocoa powder, a hint of cinnamon, a nice cedar foundation, and a long, toasty, luscious finish. It’s listed as a medium body, but at least for me, it tastes like it’s on the full side of medium. But that smoothness… Wow! It is as smooth as can be! Even a retrohale is smooth and adds a bit of spice. Nice.

The construction is rock-solid. It has a nice burn line and good ash development. Overall, this is a great cigar. I’m a fan! But I don’t know if I’m a big enough fan to have this as a regular resident in my humidor.

I know, I know, the cigar world raves about this cigar. It got #1 Cigar of the Year and a 96-point rating. Yada-yada-yada. I don’t think I’ll buy these in bulk, but I do believe I need to get at least a 5-pack to really make a verdict. Right now, I’m on the fence. Like I said, this is a great cigar. I’m not sure if it really appeals to my palate. For instance, I’d take an Alec Bradley Lineage over this one. But to be fair, I will have to get a 5-pack to be sure.

Okay… I take it back… this is a fuckin’ awesome cigar and I’m going to always have a few in my humidor. They’re super-premium so I won’t have too many. But what changed my mind was when I got to the last third. The smoke is heavier as expected but it’s still super-smooth and the flavors really intensify without being overpowering. This is actually an amazing smoke!
